Hell's Harbor

"Hell's Harbor"
Β
I gaze across this chasm, vast
into the void beyond.
The sun sets low as night falls fastβ
dark demons, night has spawned.
Β
Shifting seas soon come alive,
cold creeps out harbor's way
to where I amβI wonβt survive
to see the light of day.
Β
Loβ, softly, whispers waft aboutβ
etch echoes in my mind.
The screaming I can live without
for fear of what Iβll find.
Β
This vapid void that I must cross;
my glut of dire damnation,
has sapped my strength, enhanced my loss
through constant consternation.
Β
But yonder, lights in harbor wane,
beyond this rising squall.
God help me, here I float in vain;
Β gulls seek to maim and maul.
Β
This boundless sea, has it no end?
Oars beat, to no avail.
Horizonβs lost where hell descendsβ
βtil then, I must set sail.

Most fascinating, it's very scary what we see when our minds are left to wonder. Brilliant piece Dean.

Brilliant Dean, just brilliant. Ru
You're far too kind, Ru T, but don't think for one moment that I don't appreciate it.
Thanks a bunch for the R & R.

one of the features I wish that cosmofunnelΒ had was to pin an author. lol You are one of my favorites.
Hahaha...
Thanks, Lisa. I find myself wishing the same thing quite often after reading your work.
Thanks for weighing in on this one.
Hugs,
~DeanΒ :)
to follow an author doesn't seem to suffice. when someone is as good as you to pin their work here and there just isn't enough. I hope you will consider publishing your work. I went to AmazonΒ and I couldn't be happier. if you'd like the details just email me and I will send you the info. it is totally free to publish.
Thanks so much again, Lisa. That's very kind of you to say.
