Poem -

Her abuse --her freedoms moon

domestic fist

My cobble skin
washing thin dried blood raging in stripes
escape artists pledge an early grave, giving crusted advice
doors casting shadows stranger pain
fists turn the night sky
beast from weddings run
lovers gentle iron approach
stings as the shower calms

Bedcovers red
blessed by yesterdays holy water
protected fathers missing daughter
Gifted burial, pushed an insane friend
held down on the loose ground

Splinters sharpen as floorboards creep
you creaking playing that sodden role
Love is that burning thing
as your Usual Johnny cash
noise rings out

Neighbours used to a night time owl shriek
useful as the silver bullet bites deep
no more the creep creep creep
surprise in a cowards eyes
black a tarp
your bar stool now

time for you
to discolour black and blue
