Her Dreams

Her Dreams

Her Dreams

She dreams of a thousand lovers
Today she will stay under the covers

She is paid to keep the company of men
She wants a new life she just can’t say when

Her hopes and dreams are going down the drain
Her life has left nothing but a permanent stain

With men constantly calling her on the phone
When all she really wants is to be alone

Men calling her on the phone day and night
She so often sees no happy end in sight

All of these men that she has to please
Never a minute to put her heart at ease

The bearer of the many secrets she keeps
She is slowly drowning in water’s deep

Her heart has become cold and jaded
Her hopes like a dying flower have faded

Her dream is to escape this desperate place
To bring a smile back to her once happy face

She has become a commodity bought and sold
Wants to live her dreams before she gets too old

She fears her aching heart will turn to stone
And she doesn’t want her soul left all alone

At the end of the night she tries to sleep
Wipes her tired eyes and begins to weep

Her dream is to live a life free of chains
Only to wake and find her dreams all in vain
