Her Glacial Gaze

Her frigid stare doth find me here,
I think itβs rather queer,
an icy gaze should cause such fearβ
I know sheβs lurking near.
To thine own self, Iβm always true
tho' evβry time I think of you
βtwas fickle fate that bound me to
deathβs whisper in my ear

Author Notes:
The awdl gynt rhyme scheme. The poem is divided into 'cycles'. Each cycle is three parts:
1. A quatrain of alternating iambic tetrameter/trimeter (common metre),
2. A tercet of iambic tetrameter.
3. A single line of iambic trimeter. The form relies on cross rhyme on given syllables in addition to end rhyme. In the graphic diagram below each syllable is represented by a letter. Syllables marked 'x' are not required to rhyme, elsewhere like syllables rhyme. Near rhyme and assonance are acceptable.
