Her long lost lover ladđź’™

Her long lost lover ladđź’™

She was tongue tied, too shocked to even speak

As he mounted off his wonderful white stallion, and gently kissed her upon the cheek

He took her small, silky gloved hand, where he placed it on his heart

Saying..”I fear that I must leave you now, alas my darling, we must part!!”

And as her rosy red lips trembled with an uncontrollable reaction

Her lover smothered them with steamy kisses, from amidst his inner satisfaction

Then like a flicker from a flame, above a waxy candle light

He reluctantly mounted upon his trusty steed and he bid her “Goodnight”

Then into the darkness of that pale, waning moon

Clicking both his spurred feet on the side stirrups of his stallion, he shouted out..”I shall come back soon’!!”

And when the leaves all withered with the Autumnal fall

She returned to the castle turret, waiting by that same drystone wall

But again and again as the seasons changed ever so slowly, from yon bleakness of the Wintertime to the softness of Spring

Her heart felt so hurtful and hollow, as she fiddled with the forth finger on her left hand, twirling his engagement ring

“Oh my long, lost lover lad, where on earth can ye be? My soul cries out for just a glimpse of thee!!”

And exactly a year to the date of his departure, with that romantic rendezvous

As She lay sighing down beside that drystone wall, with her weeping and blues

Her heart skipped a beat, from the sound of speeding hoofs betwixt an atmosphere of dry dust

Yes indeed her long lost lover lad was back in her arms once more, before the Autumnal leaves withered and turned to rust….
