He’s Gone

My precious soulmate Cody, my heart is so bereft;
It’s been broken for six days now, from the moment that you left!
I still see you in your beddies, or on the tiled floor;
When I’m sitting on the pottie, and you kick open the big wood door!

One week ago you were with me, the last full day of your life;
The pain of your not being here, my soul slices with it’s knife!
To have to tell them take you, and end your horrid pain;
Was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, it has made me near insane!

I watched you take your last breath, you shuddered and then passed;
I let out roars of devastation, that I thought would ever last!
I held you and I kissed you, for a long time could not let go;
As my precious soulmate Cody, to the Heavens then did float!
