Poem -

Hey God

I looked in the mirror today
And the second thing I thought
Was, Hey God,
What's the joke.

My dad was standing there,
Old, tired and worn out.
This wasn't me.
I'm young and full of energy.

Grey haired, overweight,
And stooped over with pain.
Damn it, it is me.
But God, I'm not laughing.

I've kept my sense of humor,
When I see the scorn
In a young persons eyes
I just smile and go on.

I don't strike with my cane,
No curse words pass my lips.
I just smile and think,
Karma can be a bitch.

So the joke is over,
I want to go back to what I was.
Hey, God, are You listening?
This can't be me.
