HIS FINISHED WORK

The Carpenter came to restore
To rebuild the inner core
To bring back the former beauty
Of what was there before
The deep inflicted wounds
He gently stripped away
Layer upon layer
Working through the light of day
His callused hands, His loving eyes
Saw something I couldn't see
He saw beyond the brokenness
He saw His finished work in me
He restored the beauty and the luster
But the real labour of His love

The work He did inside;
I stand in awe of
