Hold My Hand
Hold my hand
As we cross the dead trench.
We’re all fighting men,
Whether German or French.
Whether your or my land,
We can get across together,
Though your life now lies in my hand.
When you grab my hand,
A bridge of arms forms like a truce.
Fate, Peace, and Trust cross our bridge
Leaving War behind.
Our arms no longer bear, but connect
Securing your faith in me.
If I let go, you’ll fall
Cascading into Death’s realms,
But I won’t let Death win.
Too many lives were lost
In the Great War
Where for too long, we had
Nothing left to fight for
Just staying alive,
Striving to survive,
Only to lose more
I’ll guide you over the trench,
Or any mountain, or sea
Because I promise to get you through life safely
Whether you lie in the deepest valley
Or are trapped in a desert land
Just promise to place your trust in me
And hold my hand
