HOMELESS

I show you my sadness

And I beg of your care.

Pleading with honest eyes

For my soul is in there.

Despite these modern times I have nowhere to go

Still you all pass me by and you hurry on so.

You don`t see my sadness or my plight

As you quickly hurry along on this cold winter night.

I`m feeling so lost and I have nothing to eat

In my threadbare clothes and diseased, frost bitten feet.

I look at you and I just hope that you can see

Not just the state I`m in, but the true, real me.

Please come and speak to me, for you do have that choice

I`m the one who is helpless and politically without a voice!

Love will solve so many problems for me and for others

And it`s the answer for the millions of our sisters and brothers.

Love will take the cloak from your unseeing eyes

And teach things you didn`t know

Like how to empathise!

Love is the wavelength on which you need to be

Because a little love and compassion could very well save poor lost souls, like me!
