homelessness

I feel like I excelled
at being homeless
my first temporary shell
was with my first,
then came my man,
and marriage,
the Miner's strike,
Redundancy and into a new
business venture,
five years later repossession
forced bancrupt through others
not paying, homeless again,
private rented, increasing
increasing, had to leave and
claim homelessness, put all
belongings in a farmers barn,
till the local authority could
house us, which they did
give it six months grace,
then the laddo started playing around,
so I took the kids and left,
still working hard, a single mum
another year on the run,
then I moved into our house
in Gainsborough, bought by my husband
with money from the Coal Board,
I thought he saw sense, but wrong,
he came along and started it
all over again, the pain with other women, '
he gave me the house,
with no mortgage on it,Β I pawned it
and bought another, then another,
and another, and sold one, then
another..then sold one..refurbished one
I'm sick of houses..
homelessness
it doesn't mean anything to me anymore
it's just bricks and bloody mortar
