A Horse

A Horse

A Horse

By: Sarah Borucki

His four strong hooves beat the ground,
Thundering by, but always looking around
He carries me through all the trials I face,
Knowing the dangers, He sets the pace,
Through winding paths, over fallen trees
He is a sure-footed guide, full of expertise.

Down His back, fields of snowy fur grow,
Warmth and comfort abundantly flow.
Bulging muscles bespeak inconceivable strength,
Yet He repeatedly demonstrates all-knowing restraint
Cloaked in this blanket of wooly serenity
It is in His presence thatI find my identity.

Swiveling ears hear all that is said,
And channels it into His omnipotent head
He works in ways with which we may not agree,
Still our bond is so strong He would die for me.
He thinks in a way man cant hardly believe
He sees all we do, and still never leaves.

No matter the typical incorrect phrase,
A horse is man's best friend for all its days
The refuge from our many trials,
He wrote the script, life isn’t all smile
Unceasingly He tries to get us to see,
All that life really should be.
