HOSTAGE

Captive to the Clock

Bound by time
punch for punch
captive to the clock
both hands land
wake-up, get to work,
go to bed, run run run
ALARM CLOCK
wont stop, fired shots
PLEASE JUST STOP
Bound by time
punch for punch
captive to the clock
both hands land
KNOCKED-OUT
passed out, stressed out
sleep deprived, nap nap nap
ALARM CLOCK
pops off, shots fired
PLEASE JUST GET UP
Bound by time
punch for punch
captive to the clock
both hands land
WAKE-UP

This is great writing Rob. Your structure adds to the sense of relentless monotonous existence. Yes we need to earn to survive this society. But we must not forget to LIVE and RECHARGE. Otherwise we are simply hamsters in cages functioning until we die. Fab poem once again x

My Goodness ROB!!....this is a STELLAR write......capturing the movements of true SLAVERY!!.......with the repetition of your phrasing serving as a metaphor for the metaphor itself!!....It's friggin' BRILLIANT writing my friend.....I wish I could give you more than 5 STARS!!......for most of western society has no clue that they are ALL SLAVES!!....and being a "Captive of the Clock" is so subtle that we continue on building the ant hills that will one day be crushed by those truly in control!!.....PINNED for perfection!!.....Absolutely friggin' AMAZING write dear poet brother!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!....T xo  : )
