HOTEL LIFE

HOTEL LIFE

I went into the hotel at just after three
I beckoned the waiter and ordered afternoon tea
The rates here are well beyond my means
Ten pounds a pop for a plate of beans

Guests in this hotel are awfully posh
One hundred pounds a night is a lot of dosh
I love to listen, observe and people stare
Even though I am sure I do not belong there

The hotel has character that is for sure
Was first constructed during the Boer War
My creative juices come from within these walls
I will leave you now as nature calls
