How could I be so blind

How could I be so blind

It was there before me, yet I could not see,
Did I choose to ignore it or just filter unknowingly?
With my myopic glare and hope as my plan,

I made my decisions to do what I can,
I marched on blindly not acknowledging you changed.
You made your arrangments, I continued the same.

The soft words you spoke with your heavy heart,
Never resonated we could soon be apart.
I was wrapped up in my world in my bubble you see,
Thinking all was good and you would stay with me.

But now on reflection and with hindsight, I perceive
how much you truly meant to me.
Sounds cliched and glib I know you will say,
But if I could turn back time, I would not behave this way.

I would listen to your words very carefully,
and show you, my love, how much you mean to me.
I am no longer blinded by my unmitigated stupidity,
you have shown me the importance of humility.
