How You Wish

How You Wish

How You Wish

How you wish you could shed your skin
And rid all of your demons from within

You need someone to put out the fire
The flames are growing forever higher

Seems that love has all but left this place
It is the realities of life you must face

It is time to bring your ship into shore
And to live a life never wanting more

Love left your relationship years before
You had your chance to walk out that door

Nothing can stop those teardrops from falling
Your name the voice of the wind is calling

Teardrops on your pillow leave a solemn stain
But you don’t know why your heart remains

Down the path of life somehow you were misled
You were many times wounded in the dark you bled

You have a collection of wounds and battle scars
You make your wishes known to the night stars

Remember the times you had wished you were dead
Lying all alone crying in your kind-sized bed

But after reflection all what you really want is to live
Your tired and lonely heart still has something to give

You have had enough of all the heartache and tears
And it feels as though you haven’t slept in years

May you gently fall into a lasting blissful sleep
And the promises to yourself I hope you keep

In your dreams may you have the wings to fly
And no longer allow the good days to slip by
