Humanity

There's a cry in evolution,Β
All will answer and decide.
For its truth is everlasting,Β
Conquer wrong and foolish pride.
Not a call for greed or glory,Β
Nor a sigh for fame that be,Β
Simply for humanity.
On the road of devastation,Β
Hungered strewn begging a meal.
Hard and heavy be their burdens,Β
As all afflicted will cease to kneel,
Equal soon to reside in harmony,
Upon a golden dawn of sincerity,Β
Gifted to humanity.
War and conflict rage all around us,
The hands of time shall one day heal.
Strife with hardship ill reign today,
Ensuing bells of peace will loudly peal.
For all souls who share said view,Β Β
Chiming virtuous closure to obscenity,
Awaiting all humanity.
ββββββ
In all faith's awaits resurrection,Β
For the perished souls that be.
Bestowing freedom to all hearts,Β
Endless virtues we now can see.
By their light let us be guided,Β
Beacons of hope and spirituality,
Shining on humanity.

Hi Shaun, this was really interesting to read, it really made me think about the human reaction to war and hardshipΒ
if only we all had freedom and abundance...Do you think we would just find something else to fight about??Β
Fab write
lorna xx
Hello to you too Lorna and thanks for your latest poem Sycamore Gap which really touches base with this reader.
Β And after reading your comment I hope one day that humankind can put away childish things and cease all the deadly baggage and its lingering aftereffects, once and for all.
Wishful thinking perhaps, but who knows when the waste of war cycle ends.
It'll occur but sooner would be desired rather than later by all those who suffer and have to endure the unendurable.Β
And this is a poem that has been revamped and rewritten with that added war verse due to the Ukraine War.
Thanks Lorna and Mr Sandman and a higher power calleth me now, its been a long day and two months!
But back God willing- soon to read/catch up on your latest offerings and other members also.
Thanks again Lorna for all your moral support and poetry respect and respect to you also. xx.
:)Β

Greg thank you sir for reading and your most generous comment.
You are so welcome
This is a beautiful lament to humanity Shaun...a beautiful write...pessimist that I am, I fear war will never ever stop not whist humans are...well...human...we are very flawed...hugs x
Marion thank you for visiting here and your comment for now, this current time is spot on.
It's like time for sharp intake of breath and only release it when things for us all change for the betterment of all...one distant day.
Β Thanks again and hugs back at you. x.Β
Hello Shaun! " If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things," part of one of our articles of faith! and I have found a praiseworthy item with this your poem! love it!.........................................Jim
Oh Jim, thank you for your morally supporting words and this poet warmly welcomes your thoughts and feelings on the matter.
For the life wisdom you share is never lost on this faith advocate and lifeΒ observer.
Thank you my poetry brother and peace be with you and the loved ones around you.
And I hope this reply finds you and finds you well, for I have some time off soon from work and will be visiting your poetry neighbourhood with honourable poetry intentions.
See you soon Jim.
Oh Shaun, what can I say except, "Wow!"Β You've written an epic poem here. It would be good for the whole world and all of mankind to realise peace. What a positive outlook you have here. great poem x
Tina, I am thanking your good self kindly here for your more than kind words.
And perhaps a tad or two of wishful thinking...for now, but all wars WILL cease.
Just a million dollar question of when.
Thanks for stopping by and this reader thoroughly enjoyed your latest poem The Hag.
And Tina you need to get your poetry published and I'll buy it, for it is that darned good! x.
You may not post very often these days Shaun, but when you do post, you post a bloomin GOOD un .. Only a fool, or a mad man would try to find the teensiest fault with what in my opinion is a FABTASTIC poem ..
I certainly can't fault it in any way shape or form ..
Write on brother S .. N :)Β
Nev thanks man for stopping by here and your uplifting words and for using the word FABTASTIC!!!
That word alone has made my day :)
Just for the record will be on here more often now, for the heat and demands of work and its workload have thankfully cooled and died off.
Time enough to indulge and take a deep dive in good poetry by so many who shine and all that.
See you soon my poetry brother and Nev congrats again to your good self and your good lady on becoming grandparents.π
Life goes on.π
Β
Thank you for the five stars Deepak you have generously bestowed here.
Peace be upon you and the loved ones around you.
We seem to be destined to repeat, war bringing prosperity to the rich, death to the poor, I'm unable to fathom a peaceful race. I feel the madness of existence will continue to be our downfall, to not know why we are here, never to see our maker in the flesh and even if we did, we would cancel him/her.
Fantastic poetry Shaun, it speaks volumes to me, unfortunately never to be understood by powerful men. X
Gerard you say it so well and I hear loud and clear and wish others would heed your wise words.π
And thank you for your generous words and apologies if this seems a late reply, for of time there is never enough.
I wish you well and you are spot on, when things speak volumes to some, while the powerful in postions of privilege choose to be inattentive.
Beautifully put. There is light behind your eyes.
Shaun,
as always, well crafted and inspired. the skill and form reminded me of a more cynical take by a famous but despised (underserved in my mind) poet, Kipling and his "gods of the copybook headings". I read his and I see no end to the suffering, lies, banalities, evil, suffering, Β i read yours and I see beyond it all.
Great write Shaun,
my concern for humanity, for all the religions and philosophies preaching peace and love. Very few seem to take the message to heart more so today than ever with the tik tok me generation.

Hello Shaun...
Why didn't anyone kick me to say You have to Read this?
I'm so glad I saw it!
ββββββSorry it took me so long...
If they could see what we see it might make a difference...
It's unfortunate for them...
I try not to laugh...
Sometimes, it's really hard not to...
Especially, when we can see Sat__ had another tantrum...
I can LAUGH OUT LOUD then...
I do everytime...
His tantrums, he gets so mad...
He comes back for more expecting a different result...
You would think he would be exhausted...
I guess we need to be thankful for the comedy...
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...

Β
I guess we're blocked from spelling his name...
That works for me...
No name, no power...

Thanks for visiting twice here Sparrowsong and your kind comments on the matter.
You made the journey and have arrived, regardless of time involved.
And respect to you for doing so.
Also, for any reader, one could say wishful thanking after reading, oh most certainly on that front, but time that great leveller will tell.
Thanks again Sparrowsong and appreciated.
Hope all is well my friend.
Β
a great poem Shaun. I returned to read again, it being a beautiful inspiring tonic against the relentless news.
I'm a tad late here replying Mark but thank you good sir for stopping by and you mention the wordsΒ ' tonic against the relentless news.'
And never truer words were said for it is downright scary to watch any news today without feeling repulsed of what is currently going on out there.
For human empathy has flown out the proverbial window, preceded by human decency.
Thanks again Mark and will be visiting your poetry neighbourhood with good intentions.
Respect to you my learned friend and I hope all is well.
