Hurt

Hurt

I was stabbed again
The wound it pierced
Too deep too far
The wound's that'll never heal
Unseen it'll stay
I do not desire
To be put through perpetual ire
I do not seek approval
Does it kill to be nice?
The color of my skin
And the scales on a machine
Is what you see
As those eyes skim
Through this empty vessel
It's not nice
To build a shield
Out of tears you provoked
I might laugh
But I'm dying inside
This mockery you subject me
You can elicit laughter
But my pain is much louder

Call me foolish
But I won't brandish my hurt
It cause me great shame
To smile along
Alone and misunderstood
It cause me great shame
When I call you my friend
My best friend
but who are you,
My confidant
or my tormentor?
