Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy

Each day you steal my soul, you black the heart of me
I cannot fight you off, you're just too strong
Hypocrisy.
I can't equate the things I feel with all the things I see
I don't know how to turn your volume down
Hypocrisy.
I wake each morn aware of what I need to set me free
But then I feel your overwhelming weight
Hypocrisy.
If I could just ignore my demons, simply let them be
Then maybe I'd see you for what you are
Hypocrisy.
But you are clever, honed your skills
So I could only see
Things that you alone had chose to show
Hypocrisy.
I'm not a fool, I promise you
I'll find a way to flee
And live a life of honesty, without
Hypocrisy.

Being Me

An interesting write!  I think perhaps hypocrisy is gaining a bigger foothold through social media pages on the internet. I have to say, I enjoyed the read x

Thanks for your lovely feedback. I have become more and more disillusioned with social media lately and am genuinely horrified by the open hostility being displayed 😔

Being Me

There are some truly awful keyboard bullies out there!  Social media is like the little girl who had a curl right in the middle of her forehead, when it's good, it is very, very good ...but when it's bad it is horrid. Stay safe...and sane  lol x
