As i am
Why judge me by what i wear or how i look or do my hair
why judge me by my religous or my race and the color of my face
Why take my heart and crumble it in pieces
Why take my feelings and crash them against the buildings
Why take my kindness for weakness
Why tell me what i can and cant do
Why tell me everything about me, but nothing about you
Why not let me be as i am
Why not take me as i am
In the end i will alway be as i am

Mary! I so agree with this wonderful write. You've certainly asked the right questions. I am much older than you and started asking the same questions when I was younger. I have yet to obtain the answers. As you said "in the end I will always be as I am". Excellent write!

Greetings Mary,
I like this write...With no strings, are there attached...What you see is what you get...There is only one me and i am unique in all faucets of life...A powerful attitude contained in this powerful poem of self worth...As yourself and Valerie conveyed, "in the end I will always be as I am". can't satisfy everyone in life without being satisfied with yourself.....Wonderful piece!!
Cheers,
Jim
