I AM WOMAN ( Ode to Poetess Ann Sexton)

I AM WOMAN ( Ode to Poetess Ann Sexton)

You once said

Put your ear down close to your soul and listen hard

Yet most of us never listen....

Confessional Poet
Feminist to the time
Inspiration
to the novice
Seductive
In verse
You were
all Woman

As it drills
into the
Marrow
of your
bone
Dream
Lacking
GPS
The Street
called
"Mercy"
was never
found

Maybe this
is why
Apathy
settled
in
As the
Car engine
ran
within
the confines
of your
sealed
Garage

The reciprocator
of
Mercilessness
procreates
hopelessness

Did Intellect
come to you
to the point
that you
knew
so much
yet you
knew nothing?

Was this
the
splinter
that
cracked
the Sparrow's
Neck?

Within the Resting
grounds
of Poets,
lie
much
unfinished
life,
unfinished
ink,

victims
of their
own
creatvity
which served
as the
engineer
to their
dissolution

You Have
ridden in
the cart
last bright
routes
survivor
and as the
flames
bit your
thigh
You stood
Proudly
as a Woman
not afraid to
die...............................
