I Don't Know What Love Is

How can you say you love me
Then hate on my ways,
Smiling at my face
To frowning for days.
I thought that we were made
Like cold beers in the shade,
Differences start fights
Arguments bring change,
Till one day you wake up and the feelings gone
Everything we stood for, now it's all wrong.

I failed as a lover
Mostly for my kids,
Life will never be right
And I don't.... know ......what, love.....is.

You open up, throwing salt on old wounds
everytime your near,
I can't pick myself up at the sight of a natural born actress
Who acts unaffected and pretends to be sincere,
Now I have to grow old and die alone
With a warped mind and a heart of stone.

I failed as a husband
This is no man's wish,
Living the rest of days haunted
Still I don't...... know..... what, love.....is..

I use to think it was the attraction
Part of it was sex,
Giving only each other rare satisfaction
Now I have to forget,
I believed it was accepting
And respect,
Compromise and caring
Our communication through dialect.

I failed my family
Hope they can forgive,
And the rest of my days with shame I'll live
