I Grieve

I Grieve

I grieve for the living

I grieve for the dead

I grieve for the silent

Words in my head

I grieve for the love

Locked in my heart

I grieve for the years

We spend apart

I grieve for the memories

We don’t get to make

I grieve for experiences

You don’t get to take

I grieve for a life

Lost in its prime

I grieve for today

I grieve for all time

I grieve most of all

For what would have been

If you’d got to stay

Lived through your dreams

Why were you were taken

I’ll never perceive

As long as I live

For you I will grieve
