''As I Lay''

“As i lay”
Now I lay me down,
to this sleep,
My soul o’god,
I ask of you to keep,
All weary and torn,
Tendered and tired,
This prayer I say,
For you,
I am inspired.
Ensure this slumber,
Which we embark on this night,
May we meet,
with no dourest,
I gave way this day,
To the sorrowed heart,
Through your eyes,
I feel done my best.
And now that I have awaken,
With care from above,
To such a glorious new beginning,
Absorbing for a moment,
The sight of you sleeping,
Was that of a lottery winning.
Out with the empty,
Old cup of night,
Replenished with a full cup of day,
Brand new,
Another dawn,
Will soon fall upon
And its full beauty,
I have reserved,
Just for you.
Jim

Full confidence on love. No feelings of distress later setting in the lap of lover. Trustworthy expectation of deserving eyes. Symbolic interpretation.
Appreciate the comment and like the way you literally dicected it and gave it true meaning, as if you gave it, (not only a voice to be heard) but a reason of being as well. Pretty deep interpretation..
cheers!!
