I live with a VP shunt (My Story)
At three days old
My diagnosis was hydrocephalus
So this was the story I was told
I underwent a head surgery
Shortly after my delivery
Excess fluid flooded my brain
And now they had to shave,my mane
Too young to remember
Too small to feel much pain
This was the only way
To avoid me becoming lame
A cut they made and drilled a hole
Right then and there a piece of my body
the devil stole
In went a plastic pipe
A valve on top
And a valve below
Worried sick, dad paced the hall
Mom was praying that my shaved hair would regrow
A "shunt" they called it
To drain the water flow
So I could be a normal baby
From head to toe
23 years later
I am still alive
Reminiscing on the ordeal
They thought I'd not survive
Fit as can be
I'm a miracle for all to see
Medical facts one can't deny
But God's healing power you can apply!

Aww this made me tear up!! You are a miracle baby and that is truly amazing! I could relate to a portion of this story as I currently have fluid on my brain which prevents me from even traveling on an airplane and I am not sure if my new doctor we found will be able to help. My neurologist wanted me to go see a surgeon but I refuse as I do believe God will help me along the way. This is a truly inspirational story and I am so happy you shared it. You never know how many lives you will touch just by sharing your own personal journey.

believe you me, the shunt procedure was done in less than a hour and half and i don't even feel it hey, makes my life much easier. you should consider it as it could change the way you live life for the better. IÂ know because I now can do things i would not have been able to do without the shunt. But yes on the other hand, GOD is a miracle working God and you could be healed without even inserting one!Â
