I met a friend

Sometimes the only person you can truly love is yourself.

I met a friend

One day, I met a friend
Her voice gentle as can be
Kind words were projected
Lingered, her security

Her arms were always open,
Her ears remained listening,
I've never felt judged
Just free from suffering

I reached out to hug her,
And as impossible as it seems,
She vanished to thin air
And all I saw was me
