Poem -

I Miss It

My Childhood

Is it selfish to say I miss the simplicity?
I miss the cracked court with no mesh,
the bent fences surrounding my walk to school,
and the peaceful aroma the church down the street would grant me.
I miss sitting on the freshly cut lawn getting lost in thought.
I miss being the naive girl laughing with her friends as they play tag,
I miss the way I would picture my future,
with big dreams and a passion to pursue them.
I miss it. I miss every little piece of who I was before...
before life got complicated,
people became crude and the truth was revealed.
I miss the life I lived before I became lost and fragile..
