I MISS YOU

I MISS YOU

MY DEAREST HONEYCOMB,
THE SWEETNESS OF MY LIFE,
MY MIND REMAINS RESTLESSĀ
SINCE YOU FADED FROM MY EYES.

THE NIGHTS GROW LONGERĀ
AND SILENCE HAS BECOMEĀ
MY GREATEST ENEMY,
FOR THERE IS NO NOISE IN THE AIR
TO DISTRACT MY THOUGHTSĀ
OF WHAT USED TO BE.

WHEN THE MORNING AWAKES,
IT FINDS ME COUNTING THE HOURS
OF OUR LAST EMBRACE,
HOW I MISSED THE SMELL OF YOUR HAIR
AND THE SPLENDORĀ
OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE.

O MY ROSE OF SHARON,
MY LIFE IS PUT ON PAUSE,
AND UNTIL YOUR PERFUMEĀ
INOCULATES THE AIR I BREATHEĀ
ETERNITY FOR MEĀ
WILL BE LOST.

WILFORD BARKER.

Heartfelt, very thoughtful incorporating all the senses, it really gives strength to the words and shows how you love the little things. Stay strong!Ā
