I never thought I'd see myself die

I never thought I'd see myself die,
But in a world of endless possibilities,
The impossible happened,
I watched the light in my eyes slowly fade with time,
Once a whirl of rich blues now a hazy grey,
Dull,
A laugh that filled the room suddenly became the silence,
Surrounding you with nothingness,
Empty,
Those long nights with close friends,
Laughter and smiles,
A distant memory,
These nights become filled with sadness and hurt,
A hug from your pillow,
Wiped eyes on your shirt,
I never thought I'd see myself die,
But I've watched for years as I slowly faded away,
I wish I was still her.

Hi JESSICA,
Wow!! This is intense......I can tell you've put a LOT of thought and contemplation into this subject matter......you've certainly captured a VERY compelling and dark piece of the poetic here.....with powerfully memorable phrasing that helps drive it into the readers minds eye!! ~
