I ran like a Whippet ?

I went for a stroll by myself last night
It wasn’t that dark coz the full moon was bright
I was enjoying sniffing smells
of the freshness of the Earth,
delighting in the noises
from the stillness with mirth

Not a soul was about
There was no movement around
Only my rustling of my feet on the loose leaves could be found
Such a magical feeling
I had a spiritual moment
It felt especially healing
Such a unique bestowment

All of a sudden i was as startled as can be
I was immediately scared, there was someone watching me
He was extemely tall & seemed so wide
My initial reaction was to scream & hide

So I actually started scarpering 
I gave speedy chase
But would you believe it ‘boy could this person race’
I ran like a whippet, I gave it my all
Yet I couldn’t get away from this follower at all

Panic, confusion, I stopped in mid-air
Eeeh what an idiot,
Twas only my shadow standing there
Well that was a relief, 
I thought it was a thief or a man out to get me & cause malice mischief

It took me a little while but I composed my thought
I realised I’d learned a lesson that myself had taught
If one decides to dander in the darkness of the night
Don’t attempt to go solo
With no one else in sight
It’s really rather silly, not a good idea
One can be afraid of their own silhoutte like me I fear
