I Sit Here Alone

I sit here,
Alone,
No people out there,
No one,
At all...
Touched by the cool breeze,
I look up to the moon,
Coldness,
And sadness,
Touch this face,
As I hum a tune...
Yes a slow,
Long,
Sad song,
That cometh from these lips,
The bitter chill,
Blesses me with a kiss...
Oh the whispers in the frosty air,
The wind blowing through my hair,
The cold wind on my face,
Oh the secrets that are left untold,
Of the moon and stars,
Will soon surface...
I dream about the broken walls,
That make up this palace,
The broken bridges,
That once connected us,
shattered and useless...
Losing myself to my dreams,
Its almost crazy it seems,
That maybe,
I won't be waking up...
So I sit here alone,
With no one,
Around,
No one at all,
Yes,
Me,
Myself,
And my memories,
of how it all used to be...
Basking here in the light,
Of the harboured moonlight,
I'm lost to the night,
Of fairy tales and dreams...
But perhaps here,
In a fantasy,
there's no need to fear,
For the surreal world,
Is never clear...
And I can try and rise,
Before nightmares come,
But if I get caught,
before I wake,
I pray my Lord,
My soul to take...

so sad and I could just feel the sudden emptiness and loss of connection. Such a descriptive and beautiful piece. Eloquently pennedĀ
