I Sit in Silence

Hiding behind the cry of wisdom, and the device of familiarity, we surrendered.
Letting fragile emotions become wounds and weapons, we did not prevail.
So sadly we separated,Ā  feeling oh so forsaken, so removed from our dreams.
The plans we made for our lives, as a pairĀ  not as a broken single.
The hopes we had for our future, held in a frozen arctic state.
,Letting go of mutual friends, as everyone takes a side.
Dividing our material collection, from a life that each thi g suited.

My tears have filled an ocean. Our harsh words closed our hearts.
So now. I sit In the silence, melancholy is Victorian. LikeĀ
a bostfon fern.
I sigh and find the key that fit in the little pot by the old oak door.
I slip it under the door and walk away.

Our best plans of life and romance are not always meant to be in the end. Lovely Poetry & Story. The Best. ā˜˜
