Poem -

I stand

I stand

Lord I have diedĀ
Today before youĀ
I standĀ
Humbled by thy nameĀ
I was on the wayward roadĀ
The road that taketh
In the gutters of the streets
On the grey sideĀ
The hard road
In gravel dying
In the heat of the sun
Bleeding before theeĀ
Cast out of stone
I am the son of sinĀ
The transgressor of the landĀ
I have left the townĀ
To be with my people
By the tree of olivesĀ
In the hills of GalileeĀ
I lay before theeĀ
Your dying son
Jesus Christ
