Poem -

I surrender

Crashing a party
It seemed innocent enough
A loose invite from a nonplayer
Set me on a trip to the far side
I stepped into the crush of loudĀ  stereo? And screaming toddlers
Panicked by guilty memories I ran from the epi center
landed sprawled like a drunk on the hardwood
Praying I hadn't broken my hip and cursingĀ  the half eaten corn dog acting like a shish kabob.
I dared to raise myself up to eye level and watch a cue ball ricochet off a candy bar and barely miss my head.Ā
I surrender? I SURRENDER
Please don't hurt me me.
I only came for the food.I surrender
