I Thought Love Was Just For Stories

Crimson caskets stacked as if towers,
Casting elegant shadows,
In which my heart you devoured,
Morbid it sounds,
But love has rough edges all around,
Uncut diamonds still glisten in the sun,
Tears run cold or run blood red,
The blood that you pumped into my head,
The flow of life you manipulated around this dread,
In the darkest of nights,
You blinded me with morning lights,
The day has just begun,
Your shine made the sun beg if only it could be so divine,Ā Ā
It thawed this frigid frozen black moonlight,
So now we can warm in the water,
Watching our reflection in awe struck wonder,
The night may be cold,
The day may be hot,
The walk may be long,
These memories may linger,
This mind may be flawed,
This body may getĀ tired,
These feet may be scared of what their running from,
But in this soul love will always carry on.

Beautiful ā¤
Hey MANHATTEN!!.....ya know what's so uniquely lovely about this piece.......... the fact that there are so few lines of positivity and Love's bounty......... most of the phrasing is mired in dark negativity and then shows light at the other end........ it's a VERY original type of delivery for a poem about Love......... loved every moment............ALL STARS......... well done brother poet!!.......... compelling stuff!!..........LOVE & ROCKETS!!.........T xo
