Poem -

i was the moon

i was the moon

i was the moon
that encircled your planet;
the gravity of your intelligence
pulled me in and kept me
in my repetitive orbit of you

little did i know that
you had moons on contrasting sides
of you that i could not see

little did i know that
you also orbited someone;
the sun

and little did i know that
the gravity of the sun's beauty
drew you closer each second

i was the moon Β
that shone only for you

i am a moon no longer;
nothing but a dull rock
drifting aimlessly in space
waiting to find another planet
to rotate myself around.
