Ice Queen

Ice Queen

Crystals in trees hung like ornaments
Weighing down the branches
Sparkling like huge diamonds
A fresh wind off of the mountains
Filled with winter austerity
Then in a cloud of snow
Swirled about like a cyclone
I glimpse a female figure
Outlined in winter white
Her hair was long and silver
Swirled about her to the ground
She wore a bejeweled crown
That set upon a regal head
When the wind died down
She remained so still
As if afraid to break the spell
Huge white wolves sat silent
As if awaiting her command
Then she moved to walk away
Leaving footprints in the snow
and
A lasting memory for me
