An icon

A young father,whose sacrifice left solitude
And anguish, to his beloved wife and children
Who slept everyday worried about the siren,
That tormented their loved one to servitude
A man who took punishment with gratitude,
Dedicated his life to the freedom of the people
Whom he loved more than the color purple
To his oppressors he gave a sworn attitude,
Never to give up his long walk to freedom.
A man who lived his life with many ideals
That subjected him to many years of boredom
And was prepared to live or die without any deals
That could jeopardize the sustenance of his kingdom
A man who preserves his ideals, only anger he conceals.
