If I Owned Disney Land
If I owned old Disneyland it would be a different place.
I’d cherish every tear of fear on each tiny cherub's face.
Characters you’ve grown to love would disappear without a trace.
And vile things with wings and claws would quicken up your pace.
The first thing that I’d change, of course, would be that silly name.
Something dark—perhaps Fear Park—or Deano’s Hall of Shame.
Admission would be free, you see, if you just played the game.
No cash required, coupons expired; you'll never be the same.
Â
Mickey Mouse, and Minnie too, would each don gangster’s garb;
Donald driving get-a-way cars fueled by four-barrel carbs.
Loaded up with gasoline, escaping jailhouse bars,
like Bonnie and Clyde—nothin’ to hide, why… they'd be shooting stars!
Baby Bambi would be slaughtered by a cruel huntsman’s bow.
Snow White, groped and ravaged, by all dwarfs that she might know.
Goofy'd be quite spoofy in a one-man monster show,
Scar my guide, of Mufasa’s pride—he’d tell you where to go.
Tinker Bell would dance in Hell while being tortured endlessly.
Daisy would feel hazy—finding it difficult to see
from all the smog, you’ll stand agog, poisoned relentlessly.
My patrons would be lost and tossed upon a bloody sea.
You'd best be glad that Disney lad's still owner of the rights.
'cause Disneyland, I’d sure demand, would fill with fearful frights.
My dreams and schemes of screams and things will fade into the night.
Yet, still I'll wish for things that squish in a place that has some bite!

All I have to say to this is "OOOMMMMMMGGGG." You've changed the happy scenery into a horrible nightmare!! I'm speechless and fearful with this piece of yours!!Â
This line got me likeÂ
But thanks for sharing :) It's very thrilling and my mind went blank
Hahaha...
That tends to happen sometimes when readers review my work, Gwen, heh-heh-heh.
I appreciate you doing so however.
Pleasant screams!
~Dean :)

You bet'cha, Ed.
Heh-heh-heh...

I am really starting to love your work Dean, I am not a fan of disney land so this is quite unique, to view in a whole different light - for adults only!! LOL Well written and transformed to a frightful imaginary ride...'don't go alone'...
Faith xo
My daughter says I'm going straight to Hell for writing this, heh-heh.
Thanks for reading, Faith. I don't care much for Walt Disney either.
Can you tell?
~Dean ;)
we should probably write a tribute for every fairytale in a dark place...lol "We'll meet in hell....lol
?
Okay, I'm game! ?
Hey man!!.....aren't you the guy that crept quietly into Lindbergh's house and screamed......"WHAT BABY!!?"......smiles.......dude......takes a LOT of talent to pull something like this off!!!.....I LOVE IT!!......friggin' fantastic!.....if you're gonna be a dark writer.......may as well be a DARK writer of the highest caliber!!....one thing though......please don't show this to small children ???????✴❤❤✴?
You're too funny my friend!!!....buy you a beer ANYTIME!!
Oops!
Too late.
I gotta lot of kids in my family, Tony.
Believe it or not they like to read the eerie, morbid, creepy stuff I write more than most adults do.
Funny how that works, isn't it?
In fact, a 12-year-old boy I watch in the afternoon until his mother comes home from work read this today.
Now, I know what you're thinkin'. Someone entrusts ME with the welfare and well-being of their child?
Yep. Go figure!
He laughed until he nearly peed himself, heh-heh.
Thank you for having a gander at this yourself.
I was kinda' worried about the reaction I was going to receive for taking on a beloved entity like Disney.
So far, so good...
~Dean ;)

I would surley go I would pick something spooky over blahblah happy ending type of things. You made Disney fairytale into the brothers grimms fairytales which are so much more interesting
Thanks a bunch for checking this out, Tara. I really appreciate your comments.
I often find when facing writer's block that reading the work of others helps to inspire me.
Right now I am reading Stephen King's latest novel, The Outsider, and it's scary as hell! ?
Thanks again for the read & review!
~Dean ;)
Your welcome Dean, I love Stephen Kings work I never really thought about reading a nice scary book to help with writers block hmmm.....Â
It works, I promise... :)
Loved it Dean. Made to feel as though I am there. Looks like darkness sceams around every corner as you put a different picture into a frame. This write was awesome and the talent remains up there, with the best.
Thank you very much for reading and commenting, Susan.
It is appreciated as always.
~Dean
