If Life is But a Dream

If Life is But a Dream

If Life is but a dream

Pleasure pulls at the flesh

Controls the will

And in blasphemous arrogance

 We look for ‘the god within’.

 Living in the closing pages

Of earths’ history book

Make love, live; but there’s a hook

 Share your point of view

With vigilance

Be a wise philosopher;

Not a bird catcher

Life is but a dream, but there’s a hook

Weave something better

 Than lies and deception

Fall in love with yourself again

If you can find it;

 Behind all the smoke and mirrors

 The enemy hides and wait

In trees and the underbrush

Waving jars of candle flies,

 At ‘innocent’ butterflies

Looking for shelter

 Make your own reality, but there’s a hook

 If life is but a dream...

wake up or keep being... whatever
