Poem -

If Only Autumn

Such a crisp and gentle feeling I relish as I kick many copperish leaves. My walks through the partially frozen mud are so rejuvenating for my mind. Seeing color instead of dreary concrete, hearing squirrels scampering against fallen conifer cones instead of screaming matches courtesy of my next-door neighbors. The smell of coal and logs burning in the air. I think the smell is like a scented candle. Maybe one by Yankee? I can’t remember. This beauty makes me feel sad, knowing how fleeting it is. If only this serenity could always last. If only the seasons didn’t change. If only autumn didn’t leave and could remain.

Hi K.G.
I lived where there were no seasons,
You wondered why fall had no reasons.
Love,
Terry.
xoxo :)
