Poem -

If only I could drive

The daffodils sing their beauty in the morning sun

I shuffle past on the grass, the day has just begun

I begin the journey, my back a rack of pains

I must get to the chemist, get suboxone into my brain

Each step a weight bearing effort

I pass an old woman, say hi, she gives a friendly retort

Finally I'm there, the pharmacist knows me well

She gives me the drug and everything is swell

Except I think of a coming hardship

As I realize, I have to do the return trip
