Poem -

If you ever leave this world

I've been thinking,

about what I would do,

if I ever lost you,

there'd be many rainy days,

many lonely nights,

many flights across the country,

because I know,

you always wanted to,

travel the world,

so day by day,

I'd take pictures of the places I'd see,

wishing you were with me,

I would make a journal just for you,

I would write letters about what I am going through,

but when our daughter,

comes running into our bedroom,

saying mommy where's daddy,

I hope that my heart doesn't break,

anymore than it can take,

watching the tears rush down her rosy cheeks,

staring into her eyes,

is like looking into yours,

I will hold her close,

saying baby daddy is on a trip,

traveling around in the big blue sky,

so don't worry,

he'll be alright,

then I'll wipe away her tears,

and maybe this is my darkest fear,

the thought,

of my life,

if you ever left this world
