ILLUSIONARY GIRL

A dark and dusty morning
At the edge of the world
Over the horizon
Comes a shimmering swirl
And spinning in its midst
An illusionary girl
I look up to see her
Gazing down at me
But what does she see...........
Illusionary girl
Wont you please
Tell me
What you've seen
I have to know
It's those eyes
They haunt me so
They stole my soul........
I didn't see her
For ten years, or so
I went back there
Every morning
I just had to know
Was it those eyes
Those ominous green eyes
Then a crazy warning
In a dreamlike world
Gave me the inspiration
To entrap this shimmering swirl
So I might never forget
My illusionary girl
I ran to the horizon
And what I heard
were her words
Wake up sweetheart
Its time for work............

Wonderful! Too many poems on this site have a poor meter or rhymes that sound forced, but this is great on both counts, and I like the idea.
Thank you kind sir, I do appreciate the feedback and especially that you liked the overall idea. No one has said that before.......thanx,again....Tony
