Poem -

I'm an American

I'm an American

This is my choice
I fight to be equal
My lips are moist
With the breath of my people

Beaten and bruised
Teased and taunted
I am not amused
With children haunted

By blood stained dolls
Pictures of families
Torn from the walls
Makes it less imaginary

We wear the same colors
We fight for one thing
Back home, my brothers
Smile and dream

Soon one day
Tall I will stand
Stand tall and say
"I'm an American!"
