Poem -

I'm Dying

With every possible last breath,
Life's eyes open and look for fulfillment.
Knowing there's no escape from inevitable death,
While the sun is up I take to the day at it's most brilliant.

Color fades from sunset for dark skies,
I refrain to lay head upon the pillow of my bed,
Or read the fabled stories of lies,
In fear of watching battery life slowly draining to red.

Sitting here regretfully feeling cheated,
No matter how much hands grasp the slippery soul is squirming away.
Damned in the mornings waking moments to have everything repeated,
Unless I set myself free instead of procrastinating time making excuses to stay.

I was dying from the time of my birth,
And I was able to show worth in helping create people for this earth.
