Poem -

I'm getting old?

I'm getting old?

I sit inside on a warm spring day
Got a cold that just won’t go away
My wife disagrees with everything I say
Is it a sign I’m getting old?

The wind outside’s blowing like a gale
The weatherman says we’re in for hail
The postman never brings me any mail
Is it a sign I’m getting old?

It’s all bad news on the radio
Many weeks of lockdown still to go
My blood pressure’s high it should be low
Is it a sign I’m getting old?

The P M says we must pull together
Isolate whatever the weather
Honestly I’m at the end of my tether
Is it a sign I’m getting old?

I’ve still got soreness back of my throat
Eat more than I should I’ve started to bloat
Sit around the house wearing a coat
Is it a sign I’m getting old?

That’s it! I’ve had enough of this!
Somebody somewhere is taking the piss
Near boiling point I’ve started to hiss
Is it a sign I’m getting old?

Looking back on life I feel quite blest
Maybe sometimes I didn’t do my best
But I’d like to think I’ve passed time’s test
Is it a sign I’m getting old?

Being Me

I read this because it is one of those poems that are sooo easy to read. I'm glad I did because it made for a lovely light read that made me smile. Great work x
