Poem -

I’m leaving you summer

I’m leaving you summer

Goodbye summer I’ve got to let you go

We had a good time but I’ve now moved on

Sure I’ll hold your memories sweet as wine;

Those starry nights and days of endless sunshine

.

It’s nothing personal, I hope you understand

But when October comes around, I turn

Into a deeper and more introspective kind of man

Your easy going nature holds no inspiration

.

Sure I’ll miss you and your sunny disposition

It’s what I must do, and it was a hard decision

But I feel like a boat at sea; in sweet recreation

From one perfect day into another; (big yawn)

 .

I wish that I could find contentment in your arms

But you and I were never meant to be forever

I’ve fallen for autumn and all her festive charms

But if faith allows it, our paths may cross again
