I'm Letting go

I'm Letting go

I’m letting go
I told myself’ I’m letting go
I’m letting go of the pain, the neglect
I’m letting go of everything you may have left
I told myself I could do better or even worse on my own
You left me all alone
I took the beatings because I felt I had to
If it wasn’t for the kids, I would have been left you
I once loved you
Now it’s out of my life… I must shove you
I’m letting go
I told myself I’m letting go
Treated her like your wife
Treated me like your hoe
They told me I could do better… I just couldn’t break free
No means No…but you still choose to rape me
You talk to me like you hate me
You just don’t know how to take me
I took those beatings because I felt I had to
If it wasn’t for our kids I would have been left you
I once loved you
Now its out my life….I must shove you
I’m letting go
I told myself, I’m letting go
I’m letting go of the hurt, the disrespect
I’m letting go….I’m ending this life and starting the next
I knew I deserved better, but you conned me to stay
No more poking my forehead while I’m knelling to pray
I took those beating because I felt I had to
If it wasn’t for my kids, I would have been left you
I once loved you
But it’s out my life I now shove you
I’m letting go!

Morris, I congratulate you on the poem I'm letting you go because I've experienced such abuse. You did an awesome job writing the poem.

Hey Bro,Morris,

You are right, let go she should have, and a long time ago, i,(just as many other men), would have been glad to have been the one that held open the door, to allow her to safely and freely go and then closed it again, quite rapidly and tight and see if he, would like being abused physically and walked on like the floor.......Great poem and one, just as all the rest, to wonna hold on too....

Congratulations on the nomination

Bro, Jim
