Poem -

I'M SIXTY THREE

I'M SIXTY THREE

God has smiled on me
Today May twenty first twenty twenty
This young man has become sixty three

Not too much has changed
I've long lost my hair
My body aches when it rains
And at times I forget my children's names

Living alone for six years
At times brings tears
And I often think about
What would happen if I slip and fall
Who would hear when I call

My phone doesn't ring
As often as it use to
Except for my telemarketing friends
Who's conversations never ends

But I really appreciate them
They are my new family
Always looking out for me
And calling me even when I am very tired
And trying to sleep

The government said
I cannot have my social security at sixty three
So I must continue to work
Until my health fails me
Like total loss of my sight
That would graduate me for social security

Well its my birthday
And I am happy as can be
Despite all that I am faced with
Today I am grateful to declare
I AM SIXTY THREE!
